There’s all sorts of voodoo to reconnect files in FCPX.
I am reminding myself that an AVCHD camera archive has to be mounted for FCPX to find the media.
Also, there’s a protocol for moving events and having them be recognized by FCPX – from within FCPX and not from the Finder. I’ve moved Events and Projects folders from previous installs of FCPX using the Finder, are those events and projects now trashed? I’d like to recover all those projects and have most of them on one drive. I’ll have to experiment with putting the old folders back into /movie or root and find out if FCPX can see them. My earlier explorations of FCPX copied the original media, so finding and remounting AVCHD shouldn’t be an issue.
