Combat Mime

Digital and analog special effects, creative financing, and stunt training are some of the initiatives in play as we ramp up for future movie challenges.

The ability to perform safe stunts is essential, whether choreographing a fight scene, simulating a natural catastrophe or even pulling off a bit of slapstick. In October of 2010, Joe Cissel, Patrick Kelly and Dan Kelly started working with the book Combat Mime by J.D. Martinez (Nelson Hall, Chicago). Last month we made great progress after getting some guidance from the amazing Josh Kiel. Dancers Brooke Bueby, James Weston and Gertrude Ekstatisch also join in occasionally. Here’s a window on both the agony and the ecstasy.
